Compared To What
Forty years ago Les McCann released a live album from the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. The first track, "Compared To What" questioned the reasoning of the war in Vietnam.

Obama's War
I have one question. Why are Canadians still dying in Afghanistan?
A) To avenge an attack on America.
B) To save face on a bad decision.
C) To look tough on the world stage.
D) I have no idea. There is no rational answer. It makes no sense. No one's told me the plan.
I'm going with D.
All I know is that my countrymen are giving their lives for no one knows what. If not lives, then body parts, or most likely chunks of their souls. Eight years. Hundreds of Canadians dead, maimed or fucked up. Eight years of carnage with no end in sight. Ask anyone. Pick one Canadian and ask them what the fight is about. Why are we at war?
Obama's War is an in-depth, realistic look at the war in Afghanistan. You can watch the entire program starting on October 13th.

The Front Fell Off
On August 19th, 2007, an oil tanker off the coast of Australia split in two, dumping 20,000 tons of crude oil into the sea. Senator Collins, a member of the Australian Parliament, appeared on a TV news program to reassure the Australian public.
